New page

Paint mix, or paint_mix.lua is a script available in Automato that will mix any paints for you, according to your own recipes.

You can either create your own receipes by trial and error, or you can follow the guides at Paint and have the program Practical Paint calculate these for you.

Manual use
On your Windows computer, assuming Automato is installed in the default location:

- Open Windows Explorer (i.e. press Windows key + E)
- Select This PC in the navigation pane on the left
- Click on your main drive. It will have a name, depending on your computer and (C:)
- Double click the Games folder
- Double click the Automato folder
- Double click the games folder
- Double click the ATITD9 folder
- Double click the paint_recipes file
- You will want to overwrite the current content with your recipes.
- Add your recipe in the format Color : Ingredient1 x Ingredient2 x - #Example
i.e. Sienna : Cabbage 1 Clay 9 - #Example

Note: the last part #Example needs to be present, but can say #Anything

Now save the text file.

Go open Automato, open paint_mix.lua from the list and choose a color from the drop down. Enter how many units of paint you want.
The script will tell you how many units of each material you need.
Ensure you have all the materials on you, then Click the green Process button.
The script will now make all your paint.

If you have an upgraded paint lab, it will also automatically select the most appropriate batch size to make the paint as quick as possible.

Use with Practical paint
First you will need to gather your reaction values and calculate recipes with Practical Paint as described in the Paint page.

Once all your recipes has been calculated, follow these steps:

On your Windows computer, assuming Automato is installed in the default location:

- Open Windows Explorer (i.e. press Windows key + E)
- Click on your main drive. It will have a name, depending on your computer and (C:)
- Double click the Games folder
- Double click the Automato folder
- Double click the games folder
- Double click the ATITD9 folder
- Double click the paint_recipes file
- Mark everything and delete it.
- Go back to Practical Paint
- Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button.
- Go to the open paint_recipe text document
- Press Ctrl+v to paste the copied content
- Save the file

Go open Automato, open paint_mix.lua from the list and choose a color from the drop down. Enter how many units of paint you want.
The script will tell you how many units of each material you need.
Ensure you have all the materials on you, then Click the green Process button.
The script will now make all your paint.

If you have an upgraded paint lab, it will also automatically select the most appropriate batch size to make the paint as quick as possible.

Help and further resources
