Quarry Your Hearts Out!

The Kings of the three factions have been bragging about each of their people's expertise in supplying marble, a high end product of Egypt. The Sea Farers have a stake in the answer to this question of who can actually supply the most of this valuable trade item, since they stand to profit from completing contracts with the different factions. So behind the scenes, the traders of the seas have encouraged within each faction a competition to prove who is best.

The Hyksos, since earlier times, have sold more of the precious marbles than the Meshwesh or Kush. But King Tutimaos is noticing that the other two factions are raising almost as much of the precious stone slabs as his regions. Tutimaos, being supremely confident in his people's ability to quarry better and faster and smarter than others called for a meeting of King Osorkon and Viceroy Kashti on this subject. For once, all agreed to conduct a contest to show quarrying abilities. Appropriate prizes were agreed to be doled out.

A Call to Quarry

Hear ye! Hear ye!

Henceforth, peoples of Egypt need to present to your ruler a list of your group of five persons to be considered in a contest of quarrying. Any group of five is welcome to be entered, but the five in the group must be in the same faction. We will tolerate no mixed allegiances!

Send this list of names by courier and have it include: The official name of your group, the name of your designated Leader and three more main quarriers plus one substitute person to these respected representatives of your ruler: Elder Nemshenq of Meshwesh or High Elder Dudimos of the Hyksos or General Piya of the Kush.

The deadline at the end of this week, by sunset of the 23rd day of this month, will close off entries to be chosen for this high honor.

Then each faction ruler will, by random lottery, choose a maximum of five quarrying groups to be in the contest. The names of the groups will be announced the day before the quarrying contest.

List a group name (example: The Hard Heads), a Leader, three other players and a substitute player (in case of disconnection or unplanned absence). 2) On Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at the time listed on your calendar event notice, the chats of the elders will close incoming chats for entry.
3) On Saturday, March 24th, as soon as the 'officials' have had a chance to verify allegiances and paid player status, there will be a random lottery to choose up to five teams for each faction to be in the contest.
4) Those groups will be announced on the calendar and listed here on the wiki sometime on Saturday, March 24th, 2018.

5) A maximum of perception 2 will be needed.
6) The actual contest will take place on Sunday, March 25th at 3PM EDT/7PM GMT and runs for 2 1/2 hours.

Royal Proceedings of the Quarrying Contest

• Contestants will congregate at their faction's School of Architecture located in the area of their capitol's chariot stop on the Day of the Sun. <<OOC: Contest starts on Sunday, March 25th at 3PM EDT/7PM GMT>> Constestants will be responsible for having all the materials needed to build quarries and have foods sufficient to sustain such physical effort to finish.

• The elders and second in command of each faction will be standing at their respective Great Hall at the above time. Each will announce in their region which two Rocks of Ages attunements are required. The team's contestants will attune themselves appropriately and then run to stand beside their faction's elder at their Great Hall.

• When all contestants are ready to quarry and standing at their Great Hall, they will remain there until chariots take them to the secret contest area.

• The contest will begin and run for two hours hence. No other intruders will be allowed. Intruders will be forcefully expelled! <<OOC: No warping in of married partners or new players>>

• At the end of the contest, a command will be given to immediately run to the center area where the contestants were brought. Any contestant not returning to the beginning area will not only disqualify themselves but their teammates also!

• After the end of the contest, contestants will have the choice to remain in the area to finish their quarries or have the chariots return them to their capitol centers.

• Rankings in the 3 "most" prize categories will be based on ownership of a quarry at the end of the event.

• Quarries that get a prize for their team in 1 or more of the 2 "first" prize categories can not be transferred to another team to give the other team any kind of credit.

• A team representative will report to their faction representative about candidate quarries that may qualify for a prize in a "first" category.
