Alone Together was never intended to be a supply depot for its members, but rather as source of facilities to be used to assist members in building their own operations, to help new players get started, and to have a group of people ready to help one another with tests and tasks that can not be completed by a solo player. A-T has evolved a little since its creation, but that basic tenant is still the core of what A-T is all about.

That being said, if you are short some mats for a personal project, and there is a surplus of those items in the guild ware houses, by all means use them, that is why they are there. Simply replace what you have used when you can, or pitch in with some other "chore" such as wood collecting, basic metal mining, making CC, wax harvesting... something of that nature. With many the new steam machines this is less important for some items, but still be reasonable in what you take for personal use. If you need a large amount of something for a personal project, it can probably be accommodated, but check the projects page first to ensure it's not currently being produced to fill a need there, or ask if you're not sure.

I am very much anti-hoarder. I understand that many people like to have large amounts of everything on hand, so that they can grab what they need and go. I agree with that to a degree. I have no problem with keeping a reasonable amount of stuff on hand. But it is really easy to go over-board and create major storage issues. Case in point... Somebody recently processed a large amount of tow into a huge amount twine. There was already plenty of twine and rope on hand, so now we have a warehouse full of twine and no room to add textile items that are in lower supply. The point being, only process what you need for your project, or to replenish a reasonable on-hand supply of any given item. And if an item can be stored in the machine it is produced in, or the animal pen it originates in, leave it there rather than fill the ware houses with stuff that does not need to be moved until it is needed. (Again within reason)

Exceptions to that would be if there is a big project coming up, be it a guild project, tech research, or even a big personal project somebody is getting ready for. In those cases some temporary "hoarding" may be in order. If something of that nature is in progress let me know and I will help accommodate whatever is needed, and probably pitch in if I am able.

Not sure what the "optimum" number of camels is for leather and dung production. Currently maintaining 1 Male and 3 Females. If you have any info on this let me know and we will adjust accordingly.

All of these are items that collect far quicker than they can be used up. We can produce way more clinker at our iron mine alone where our Heavy Clinker Vat is located than we will ever need. There is no reason to keep any produced in the main camp, or out at the copper mine. All it does is use up valuable storage space. Please just toss it out.

For honey and Royal Jelly, check the current supply... Right now we have a pretty large stock of both, so until supplies start getting low just drop them as well.

Replant with 28 seeds each after a harvest, the seeds are in the warehouse at 1451,2775. Do not let the seed supply go below 100 seeds. If the seeds are getting low, and you do not have the time to do a pappy run, please let us know so that we can re-stock the seed supply.

The Papy Tanks

The 28 seeds/100 papy harvest takes up to 24 hours to complete. Ten tanks produces 1000 sterile papy per growing. If you do a harvest, please harvest it all and replant the tanks. Seeds are stashed in the riverside WH. Do not let the seed supply dip below 100. If it is getting close, let me know and I will do a papy run. (Or if you have the time and desire, by all means go ahead and do a papy run yourself. It won't hurt my feelings I promise! LOL) Seriously! Papy growing is one of those tedious chores that we all hate a little, but the seeds go fast, so if you are using a lot of them, help to restock when you can. Stash any that you don't need in the riverside WH. If you only need a little and don't want to do a harvest, check the WH as there is generally a couple K on hand. If all of the tanks have not matured, please wait to harvest until they all have so that the 24 hour cycle is not disrupted. IE some tanks have only a few hours left, but others have a whole day to go.

The best growing time seems to be around 8:30 pm game time. There is a nice papyrus growing area to the North of camp starting at 1456, 2995, just follow the signs.

And finally, why all of this is important to me...

In the mega guilds such as ZFree, (Not bashing them here! They are a great group of people!) members have access to all of their facilities, which is a HUGE benefit, but until you gain rank you have no access to any supplies at all. I understand why they need to do this, but I don't want that for A-T. I by far prefer to keep everything available to everybody, and very much want to be able to keep it that way (the two exceptions being the guild projects wh and my personal storage chests/WH).

The best drying time seems to be between Midnight and 2:00 am. There are public drying racks at 854, 2995 the route up the mountain starts at 1030, 2121.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have thought or comments about any of this, or any other subject for that matter, by all means share them. I may have built all of this for you, the members, but you the members should have a say too. That is the only way this organization can grow and evolve.

== Camp Decorations ==

Camp beautification is an ongoing project. Currently we have several different flowers (Sea Lilies and Sand Blooms) placed around camp. If you have a minute and would like to help by fertilizing the flowers, there is flower fertilizer in the Gen Use warehouse. As the collection grows, the demand for fertilizer will grow. If you have an abundance of whole or rotten fish you could donate them to the cause as well. If you have a spare bulb that you would like to donate, especially if it is a flower type that we don't have yet, either pick a nice place and plant it or you can drop it in the WH. Please do not harvest the petals, as this kills the flower. Once we have a decent amount of camp flowers that are producing bulbs we can consider harvesting petals if somebody needs them.

There are several Art & Music and Though tests that require the construction of nice structures that would make for great camp decorations. Dancing Waters Fountains, Prismatic Opticons, Tome of the Immortals to name a few. If you would like to complete any of these tests you are welcome to place you building in or near camp, just check with the leadership to make sure that there is not a planned expansion in the spot you choose. Many other guilds have their members place all of these buildings together... Rows of Tome of the Immortal pyramids, Night Sky Tables ect. We do not want to do this, as it is unattractive and can begin to look cluttered over time. We would rather they be relatively scattered around the area to make for an interesting and nice looking camp.

While working on gearboxes for all these quarries it has become clear to me that 1 student casting box is simply not getting the job done.

I am going to move the carpenter shops closer to the wood pile, it will be better to have them over there anyway now that we have the stable bonfire on that side of the building. I may move the barrel vise as well. I will determine that when I do all of this.

Once some space is cleared I am going to add 3 more student casting boxes.

I have found 2 more Serpentine Marble Quarries, one will be emptied today. I have not yet made gearboxes for the second. The one should get me what I need for the new kilns, so the second can go towards some trade maybe. It is located at 1185, 3021 and the gear box reqs are G83-98 and A499-609, G334-397 in case one of you wants to practice your gearbox making skills.

There is still plenty of prospecting food, so next on my marble list is Tangerine Marble, so that we can build some more Marble Tubs. (I am going to put the carp shops where the basic tubs are now). Let me know what other marble types you would like to have on hand and I will try to find them while the food lasts (unless one of you beats me to it).

These are all fairly small and easy builds, so I am not going to add any of it to the project page.

As always your assistance is not required for any of this, but it is a fair bit of work and I certainly won't turn down any help if you care to pitch in.

A couple points

I would like to take a moment and stress a few points. Please don't take any of this the wrong way, as it may come off harsher than intended which is not my intention.

This one is kind of big to me.

Clinker, Honey, and Royal Jelly

All of these are items that collect far quicker than they can be used up. We can produce way more clinker at our iron mine alone where our Heavy Clinker Vat is located than we will ever need. There is no reason to keep any produced in the main camp, or out at the copper mine. All it does is use up valuable storage space. Please just toss it out. For honey and Royal Jelly, check the current supply... Right now we have a pretty large stock of both, so until supplies start getting low just drop them as well.

And finally, why all of this is important to me...
