It looks as though each starting stat combination may only need to be tested for each resin once.  For example:  In the tests for Cinnar Resin, the starting point of +Str/-Per was tested twice.  The stats affected changed at the same number of resin added, and the qualities for each of those stats also peaked at the same number of resin added.

Key to abbreviated notes

The format of the notes above is as follows.

Resin name
Final stat that you'll get to if you flood the incense with enough of this resin
Starting value of incense || First Stat (Number of resin that leads to max quality of initial stats {quality}) || Second Stat (Number of resin that leads to first sign of stat, number of resin that leads to max quality of second stat{quality}) || Third stat . . .

Starting Details For example, for my first test on Cinnar Resin, the incense started out as "You catch a whiff of quality 300 Patchouli scented incense. You are filled with a Hopeful strength, yet a bit of confusion."
Stat 1 The highest quality was at 300, when no resin had been added. Adding one Cinnar resin caused the quality to drop.
Stat 2 By adding two Cinnar resin, the stat changed to increasing Speed but penalizing Constitution.
The third Cinnar resin increased the quality to 306.
The fourth and fifth resins dropped the quality.
Stat 3 The sixth resin the stats affected changed to +Constitution -Speed.
Adding more resin increased the quality until after the twenty-ninth resin, the quality was 357.
The quality remained at 356 and 357 through the 50th addition of Cinnar resin
At that point I ceased the test and moved on to a new piece of incense.

Observations

It looks as though each starting stat combination may only need to be tested for each resin once. For example: In the tests for Cinnar Resin, the starting point of +Str/-Per was tested twice. The stats affected changed at the same number of resin added, and the qualities for each of those stats also peaked at the same number of resin added.

The stats affected by the incense are changed by adding resins.
The information in the following chart is from a previous tale. It needs to be verified by actually burning incense.
Positive stat changes use the terms we are familiar with. Negative stats use different terms:

Description Negative Stat
Clumsiness Dexterity
Confusion Perception
Forgetfulness Focus
Fragility Constitution
Lethargy Endurance
Sluggishness Speed
Weakness Strength
