{{Merge}} creates an information box containing information regarding a proposed page merge for display at the top of a page and adds the page to the Pages to be merged category. Merges should generally be proposed when two pages cover the same topic but which currently contain different content. If two pages contain the same content, it may be more appropriate to simply edit one page to be a redirect to the other. See this article for a walkthrough on merge best practices.

Usage

The template's only parameter should simply be the name of the page that is being proposed to merge with the current page. Information regarding the reasons why the pages are being proposed for a merge should be included and discussed separately on the pages' associated Talk pages.

Example

{{Merge|Wet Clay Dome}}

results in a merge proposal notice suggesting that the current page be merged with the Wet Clay Dome page.

When using the Merge template, the template should also be added to the referenced page so that the proposal has visibility on both pages.
