Faction Elders
The first Elder for each faction was appointed by Stranger. To receive the appointment, the player had to meet the stranger alone. If more than one player showed up, they were all returned to welcome island. Future elders have been elected by popular vote, save for some who were automatically elected after the other groups in the round deadlocked.
