An improved version of kiln, with a much larger capacity. It is fueled with coal and can be further upgraded.

Source

This building becomes available once you have learned the Steam Mechanics 2 technology.

A non-upgraded Steam Kiln's hopper can hold 500 Wet Clay Jugs, Wet Clay Bricks or 500 Wet Firebricks at once, replacing 16 Reinforced Kilns

Upgrade and Enlarge Hopper

After upgrading the hopper, the Steam Kiln can hold 1500 Wet Clay items or 1500 Wet Firebricks at once, replacing 50 Reinforced Kilns.

Further Upgrade and Enlarge Hopper

Use

The Steam Kiln can be fueled with 1000 coal at a time.

Base production rate (Untuned and without a Springbox): (??)

  • Tuned to Level 1 with no Springbox, the kiln appears to produce 15 dry items per tick and use 1 Coal every 2 ticks. A tick being about 2 Teppy Minutes long.
  • Tuned to Level 1 with 8,9k Springbox, the kiln appears to produce 45 dry items per tick and use 1 Coal every 2 ticks. A tick being about 2 Teppy Minutes long.

Other Upgrades

Like other automated buildings, it may be tuned and upgraded with a Springbox. The Springbox actually increases the efficiency in terms of coal:baked items, while Tuning merely increase the rate at which both items are produced and coal is used, presumably proportionately.
