"Added new genome fragments to track size modifiers"  April 12, 2021.
  • Flower genomes already have size modifiers.
  • There has been discussion about a greater variety of vegetable sizes.

The information in this article is based on Tale 8 and earlier. Specifically, gene color codes changed in Tale 7, generally with no change otherwise to actual genomes, and this article still uses old gene color codes. Consequently, information provided by revelation solvents will not be directly consistent with this article. Color codes and plant genomes are assumed to be the same between Tale 7 and Tale 8, but this has not been fully verified.
If you are able to confirm and provide updated information, please consider updating this article and removing this warning.

Sandbloom Fertilization

Partway through T8, the number of fertilizations needed to bulb all flowers was halved. In addition, the Apophis' Apology Sandbloom was introduced

  • instead of requiring 24 ferts like the rest of the sand blooms, it required 20 ferts.
  • gene 31 (V) is part of the gene sequence that reduces the fertilizations needed for sand blooms
  • changing gene 31 (V) increased the number of ferts needed from 20 to 22. The genome LAVR is used twice in Apophis' Apology.
  • changing gene 3 (L) also increased the number of ferts needed.
  • Love's Touch contains (T8) PIL, (T9) LAV. Number of ferts needed has not been confirmed as 24.
  • currently available mutagens do not allow for completely producing the LAVR sequence in another sand bloom. Partial production may be possible.
    • AV is present in other sand blooms which do not have reduced fertilization.
    • VR is present twice in Apophis' Apology, and is not currently present in other sand blooms. Creating it in another flower did not reduce ferts.

The 'V' gene regulates flower fertilization by reducing the standard Flower Fertilizer rate by 2 per each 'V' gene from the default of 48 fertilizations. In the latter part of T8, this was changed so that in the end the number of fertilizations required is 1/2 of what it would otherwise be (e.g. 19 instead of 38). See Flower Fertilizer Chart.
