Use
This type of Beehive does not attract a queen the same way as a Simple Beehive does. It needs to have a Queen Bee placed in it to start producing. Checking the beehive for wax, honey starts a focus timer.
After putting a queen inside, the small beehive cannot be checked for at least 23 minutes, but before 3 hours.
Mechanics still TBD, but what seems to work is this:
- Far from player buildings, especially other hives
- Plants nearby
- Water neawrby
When you check a hive, and the queen has died, you will not notice that in the popup window, which will talk about bees, honey, beeswax and royal jelly, but instead there will be a message in the Main Chat. Examples:
"It looks like the Queen Bee has died or fled the Hive. Probably due to the nearby conditions."
Got this from:
- Building between trees in the camp, next to a Simple Beehive
- Building next to the Nile on grass, 26 coords from an oasis with a Simple Beehive
Two queens were lost in oasises far from everything else, but not close to water, did not pick up the message.
What works so far:
- Building in an oasis (grooup of trees and plants), more than 40 coordinates from the nearest hive, about 5 coords from some wood planes and a tent, and 10 coords from a compound with a ranch and fields just north of it
