Description

Herbs are a large collection of wild plants that spawn througout the world and can be harvested by a person with the required skill-set. To know how to gather herbs, a player is required to learn Technology/Botany/1. This gives the required Botany 1 (Skill) skill to harvest.

Herbs are generated where there are plants. Plants are broken down into different oasis, generally by age of the plant. The more oasis there are in an area, the more herbs that can generate. This explains why some areas are more prone to herbs than others! However, having plants does not mandate that it must allow herbs, as herb generating by an oasis can be switched off by the world builders. This commonly happens if a lot of oasis has been used in camp decoration.

Correctly selecting the foraging method will provide you with a base of 1 to 7 of that herb and indicates the name of successfully foraged herb. The amount harvested appears to be correlated with the amount of time that herb has been there. With suitable skills, a player can learn to Memorise the techniques used, which skips the need to select the right tend method. The base can be increased by skills and objects. All* herbs can also be off-lined by a suitably talented herbalist.

* Due to an unresolved bug, Allbright cannot be off-lined at this time

A visualisation and tend method (if known) can be found at https://catitd.com/herbs/ - this website has consistently weathered every tale, and is the go-to site for herbs and other ATITD related information.

Cegaiel's Tools

These tools at the moment are a common way of tracking and maintaining the herb information within the community.

Note: This Tale, I'm going to have my pages auto-import from the wiki instead of manually copy/pasting results from T10 Google Spreadsheet.

Feel free to continue using the Spreadsheet (if that is your preference) but be sure to update the wiki with the confirmed Methods and Stats. ~Cegaiel
