The most basic type of shovel, produced at a Crafting Bench out of 2 boards and 1 Slate Blade.
It is used in group digs to dig for stones, and can also be used to gather dirt from the ground. Both uses require dirt terrain.
Slate shovels are fragile and will break after a number of uses. Carrying several is recommended for heavy-duty digging. Or, for best results, use a regular metal shovel (when available) which will never break.
