Wood is gathered from Trees. Different trees yield different base amounts, ranging from 1 to 5.
Cost
The yield from a tree can be increased by carrying a Hatchet of at least 3k Quality (the higher the quality the more wood is gathered, see Hatchet for details on increase).

- Crudely made hatchet 2900Q 34 wood
Yield is also increased with Perception higher than 0. As your Perception increases, you will begin getting the following message on some harvests: "With keen Perception, you were able to get a bit more wood, without harming the tree". The higher your perception, the more frequently this message will appear. At perception 16, I am seeing this message every harvest-Lilyoptra 7/9/16.
Having both a high quality hatchet and high perception will yield the best harvest.
Use
After manually harvesting ??? wood, you gain the option to automatically accumulate it as one of your Offline Chores.
