Details
At tuning level 3 the Steam Distaff processes 6 lint or tow per duck minute. This is not 1 per 10 seconds, as it jumps in groups of six per minute, not adjusting 1 per 10 seconds. I did not test speed before tuning or at Level 1 or 2. - TimberNZ, Tale 8
Further Upgrades
The Stem Distaff may be tuned using the Mechanics skill to increase operating speed - though not efficiency - or upgraded with Springbox to improve both speed and efficiency. Data is needed on the exact improvements a given springbox may be expected to make.
