In the interest of gathering data for each citrus type, please add to the charts below as you grow trees of each type. Tale Seven, Lilyoptra managed to determine the "ideal values" for each citrus type. This ideal leads to each citrus type (numbers closest to the ideal values for that fruit) and citrus adjectives (the value of those four which is farthest from the ideal for that fruit). I am going with her theory that "A tree is determined by taking the sum of the squares of the differences between the tree's attributes and each fruit's ideal attributes".

In language that I can understand a little easier:
One tree's actual values are put through this formula, comparing it to each tree type's ideal values. The result that gives the lowest number determines which tree species you've got.

(The difference between the actual color and the ideal color) squared

(The difference between the actual size and the ideal size) squared
plus
(The difference between the actual length and the ideal length) squared

Of those four differences, the one which is farthest from ideal determines the fruit's adjective.

Attempting to come to some conclusions about ideal values for Buddha's Hand. (Pardon me while I think out loud and ramble a bit!) It is one of the starter fruits, so we have more data to look at. There are two sets of "Small" fruits which help a lot. I checked with the grower, and yes, the numbers are accurate.

Small: 710 color, 650 sweet, 642 size, 437 length <-- 642 size is very common so far, but this fruit is one where 642 size is the farthest from ideal, making the other three values closer to ideal.
Small: 730 color, 782 sweet, 612 size, 533 length <-- This fruit has the highest sweetness we've seen, and very high color, but "small" is still the value farthest from its ideal

Looking at the sweetness values of 409 and 503, one possible ideal value for sweetness is 456. It is the closest number to both those values, at 47 points higher than 409, and 47 points lower than 503. But for both fruits, they are labelled Greenish, not Sweet or Tangy. Therefore, 754 must be more than 47 points below the ideal color for Oroblanco, making the ideal color at least 801.

The upper limit for Sweetness can also be dropped down a little bit:

Looking at those two fruits, they are identical, except for their lengths of 855 and 822. The length of 838.5 is the closest to both numbers, at a difference of 16.5 from each. This means that the sweet value of 735 must be at least 16 points higher than the ideal, so the ideal value is at most 719.

- We have the color values of 716, 754 and 767. There are three possibilities.
  - 1) the ideal color is 716 or lower. This means that 767 is at least 51 points too high, and the fruit is still not reddish, because the size of 900 is more than 51 points too high.
  - 2) the ideal color is 767 or higher. This means that 716 is at least 51 points too low, and the fruit is still not greenish, because the size is more than 51 points too high.
  - 3) the ideal color is between 716 and 767. This would make 716 greenish and 767 reddish, except the fruit is labelled large because 900 is more than 25 points higher than its ideal size.
    No matter which of these three possibilities is true, the ideal size of Rangphur must be less than 875.
Sweet (Tangy)-(Sweet)
- 843 is closer to ideal sweetness than 900 is to ideal size
Size (Small)-875
- Regardless of the accuracy of the assumptions on ideal color, we know that 900 is at least 25 points too high, making the ideal size 875 or less.
Length (Flat)-(Long)
- 822 is closer to ideal length than 900 is to ideal size

And then the next growth cycle produces a Large Rangpur with a size of 847....(its good mental exercise, right?)
