Gearboxes are complex items individually designed on a Gearbox Assembly Table.
Cost
A variable combination of Small Gears, Medium Gears and Large Gears made of various metals according to their rotation speed in the design.
Here is an example of the cost of a gearbox :
To build a Gearbox model B386 D556 H139, you need: 2 Aluminum Medium Gear 3 Aluminum Small Gear 2 Brass Medium Gear 3 Brass Small Gear 1 Iron Medium Gear 1 Iron Small Gear 1 Lead Medium Gear 1 Magnesium Medium Gear 1 Platinum Medium Gear 1 Platinum Small Gear 2 Tin Medium Gear 1 Tin Small Gear
Uses
Used as common components of automated buildings

Outputs and Designation
Each individual gearbox is named according to its "outputs", of which it can have between 1 and 3. Outputs are identified by a letter (A through H), representing the output's location on the gearbox; and a number, representing the output's rotation speed. An example of a 2-output gearbox might be "Gearbox: B268 F133".
Buildings and techs requiring gearboxes will generally specify a range of acceptable output numbers that will fulfill the gearbox requirement. For example, a building may require "Gearbox: B200-B299", and any 1, 2, or 3-output gearbox with a B output of speed between 200 and 299 will suffice.
