A shovel is made from 10 metal on an Anvil. Archaeologist Shovels are made on anvils from 8 metal.
It is used in group digs to dig for stones, and can also be used to gather dirt from the ground. Both uses require dirt terrain. The yield from a blacksmithed shovel depends on its quality.
