Sand Blooms may be discovered when inspecting an Odd weed, generally found out in the desert. Fungiculture skill level 3 or higher give a greater chance of finding the sand bloom bulbs.

Size Comparisons
More study is needed to understand the interaction between Dwarf and Giant gene sets in Sandblooms.
The gene sequences are known for two of the flowers in this screenshot. Starting from the left,
- Petit Mal: Has two Dwarf genomes, and no Giant genomes
- Ariella's Noel: May have only one Dwarf genome. It is not the same size as Malard's Delight.
- Malard's Delight: May have only one Dwarf genome. It is not the same size as Ariella's Noel.
- Sand Bloom: Has no Dwarf or Giant genomes. It is the "normal" size
- Apophis' Apology: Appears to be the same size as Lemon Drop. It should not have any Dwarf or Giant genomes.
