The Improved Hackling Rake becomes available after learning the Structure Reinforcement and Flax Processing skills. It must be built inside a Compound.
It is a more advanced version of the Hackling Rake, which is in turn an improved version of the Flax Comb. The Improved Hackling Rake processes 30 Rotten Flax per pass, and breaks after approximately 200 uses (6000 flax processed).

Upgrades
Unlike the regular Hackling Rake, the Improved Hackling Rake cannot be upgraded with Eyelet cut gems.
Use
Timer: Endurance (45/60)
- Process 1 Rotten Flax into 1 Straw, 1 Tow and 1 Lint in three steps.
- Can process up to 30 Rotten Flax at a time.
Notes
- Rotten flax is taken directly from your inventory in Step 1. If you have less than 30, the comb will use what you have and produce less straw/tow/lint accordingly.
- A good strategy is to salvage the rake before it wears out. Leave the straw in the rake. When the count approaches 6000, tear down the building to get materials for the next rake. The higher your salvage skill, the better.
