Sources

Sometimes, when filling Jugs, you will collect some Tadpoles along with your water. Tadpoles have 0 weight and 0 bulk; you can carry and store as many as you like.

If you feel like you've accumulated all the tadpoles you could ever want, you can go into Options -> Interface Options and select "Discard any tadpoles you find when gathering water". You will no longer collect tadpoles while this option is selected.

Use

Tadpoles are used in Ecology for soil testing, and are a common element in sculptures due to their unique fishbowls.

Trivia

In earlier tellings, tadpoles existed, but not frogs.
