Tasks are new in T9, they provide a step-by-step guide to walk players through various technologies and resources.
Right now these are all the available tasks we can get:

How to get: you get this once you click on the great hall and petition for an election to start
- Register as a candidate for Elder
- Participate in one Elder election
Home Sweet Home
How to get: You get this automatically once you arrive in Egypt
Reward: 1 Talent Point
- Choose somewhere to make camp (Self/Projects/Make Camp)
- Build a Compound on flat ground
- Build a Crafting Bench in your Compound
- Expand your Compound to 16 sectors
- (Optional)Install a Cornerstone to prevent maintenance costs
Botany
How to get: you get this when you examine any plant
Reward: Botany skill and ability to eat and harvest wild herbs
- Identify 25 different plants and trees
