Revision as of 14:43, 6 March 2020

It's Mega time again! Please add your name and information to the list at the bottom of the page to be included in the list of builders.

How this will work:

1. The list of materials below is an estimate of what is needed, we may need less than we have gathered. In the event of extra materials, they will be forwarded on to the next Mega group (if we get more than 49 people signed up there will be multiple builds in multiple regions). In the event that we don't have enough people for more than one mega, the leftover materials will be set aside for use in future tests.

2. Everyone is expected to contribute to the efforts

3. Once all the materials on the list are gathered, we will determine the build week.

Phase 1 - Sign Up

Please add your name to this list then choose your job and add your name to that list as well, please note that positions are limited and will be authorized on a first come, first served basis. Please feel free to sign up your alts/mules but remember they will still need a job assignment and be expected to complete it. Once you've added your name to the list and selected a job, please put in an application at The Test Tavern guild hall (if you're not already a member).

Job Signup

Below is a signup sheet for the various 'jobs' that need to be filled. Some are very specialized while others anyone can do. Please only sign up for a job you are comfortable with and confident you can do. Please review the Job Descriptions before signing up to make sure you can complete all aspects of the job.

Job Descriptions

Please note that bricks and boards aren't on this list as everyone can donate those.

  • Waterminer: Run watermines as needed to gather the required number of cuttable gems (we could possibly end up needing several hundred of each cuttable to ensure we have enough as some flaws are very rare.
  • Gem Cutter: Self explanitory; please only sign up if you have experience cutting the gems needed for the project. We may need to source the job out if nobody can do it. Since it's a tedious job, I've left two slots open for that as it is a monstrous task.
  • Wood Treaters: Process donated boards to the required attributes. Boards can be retrieved for treatment, but you will need to provide treatment supplies.
  • Blacksmiths: Process items made in the student's and master's forges. Metals can be retrieved for processing, but you will need to provide your own charcoal.
  • Casters: Process items made in the student's and master's casting boxes. Metals and wax can be retrieved for processing, but you will need to provide your own charcoal.
  • Painters: Makes the paint needed for the project. Please calculate and let me know the cost of all the paint needed and we'll put up a donation list.
  • Stone Cutters: Retrieve cuttable stones and cut them on rocksaws.
  • Concrete Team: Attending numerous cement stirs and turning cement into concrete using gravel collected at gravel bomb parties. This job is in addition to one of the other listed jobs.

Phase 6

Now that the materials are all gathered, it is time to sort the warehouses by build segment (wall, bridge, etc.) and assign to builders to make build week go smoothly. And build week will be announced.

Phase 7

Build week is here! Congratulations we did it guys! The central structure will be built and we will have one week for everyone to build. If for any reason you cannot make it to the site to build your part, please let me know. Any sites not built when the timer reaches 6 hours remaining will be reassigned to someone else wanting to pass the test and the assigned builder will be transferred to the next group should they so desire(work done on a previous build does not transfer to a new group - you will need to sign up for a new job assignment within the new group).

Notes

Everyone is expected to donate/participate for the following items:

  1. Bricks
  2. Boards
  3. Flax Products
  4. Paint Ingredients (List will be provided by the painters at a later date)
  5. Dig products for both stones and cement/concrete supplies for the concrete team

Once you have completed your 'job' for the project you are free to help others with their job to speed things along should you choose to do so. Remember, Build week will not be announced until all listed materials are on-site.

Any materials that are left after the build will be rolled-over to the next mega project - or other group tests in the future if we don't have enough to form a second group.
