Test of Hor-em-akhet

Overview

"The Sphinx" is an alias, created by the Ancient Greeks for a statue that was already centuries old. The statues original purpose was to ask for protection from the god of the sky, Horus, and would of been known by the Ancient Egyptians as "Hor-em-akhet" meaning "Horus in the horizon". Begin this test at the University of Architecture.

Test Goal

Master the art of relief sculpting and band together as a group of 14 players to carve out Hor-em-akhet

Task List
  • Smith a Copper (or better) Chisel on an anvil. It is recommended to make a Bronze Chisel which is capable of cutting both High and Sunken Reliefs
  • Dig up a Silicified Sandstone block (1 TP) (Specifically slide rollers under this block)
  • Dig up an Anhydrite Block (1 TP) (Specifically slide rollers under this block)
  • Add a High Relief Carving to a Hor-em-ahket Site (1 TP)
  • Add a Sunken Relief Carving to a Hor-em-ahket Site (1 TP)
  • Complete Hor-em-akhet (3 TP)

Skills and Items

Relief Carving

Creating Shabti Dolls

Stone Blocks and Carving the Reliefs

The High and Low Relief Scupltures needed to build Hor-Em-Akhet are carved from Silicified Sandstone and Anhydrite blocks respectively. These are found and excavated in the same way as Limestone Blocks.
Note: Carving a Relief on a stone block shows % progress, and triggers DEX and FOC timers (Dex being longer duration - 1m 30s at 4 dex). The amount of progress made each click appears to vary from <1% to >30%. You will need a heavy mallet and copper chisel (high relief) or bronze chisel (sunken relief).

  • Silicified Sandstone
    • Appears to be roughly the lower 1/3 of the map - not dependent on region borders
    • Carving uses DEX & FOC and at least a Copper Chisel
    • 1x Silicified Sandstone Block = 1 High Relief Carving

  • Anhydrite
    • Only found in the Red Sea region of Egypt (This needs clarification, whether it's the Red Sea Region, any region bordering the actual sea, or if it's the upper 1/3 of the whole map.)
    • Carving uses DEX & FOC and at least a Bronze Chisel
    • 1x Anhydrite Block = 1 Sunken Relief Carving
