Goal

I should have named this page "Contemplation 19" but I wasn't expecting to become so confused about all these crosses!

Continued crossbreeding of the Contemplation vine with 19 genes. Working toward children which are:

  • short enough to be mapped with a single revelation solvent
  • have no Y genes, to be paired with a vine that has all Y genes.

Tends

There are 68 possible children, created by crossing a Contemplation vine with 19 genes.

  • 34/68 are genetically identical to the parent, Q KK, Light Red Hue
  • 17/68 are mutations with one gene duplicated at the splice point
  • 17/68 are mutations with one gene deleted at the splice point

  • 53/68 will have tends of Q KK, and have Light Red Hue.
    • 34/53 ARE the same as the parent.
    • 19/53 are mutations with the same tends and hue as the parent.
  • 15/68 will be mutations that can be detected through tends or hue (see below)

  • 1/15 will have tends of QQ KK, and Light Red Hue (duplication)
  • 6/15 will have tends of wildQ and Light Red Hue
    • 3/6 will have tends of wildQ KK, and Light Red Hue (all deletions)
    • 2/6 will have tends of wildQ KK S, and Light Red Hue (both duplication)
    • 1/6 will have tends of wildQ K, and Light Red Hue (deletion)
  • 4/15 will have a White Hue
    • 2/4 will have tends of Q KK, and White Hue (one deletion, one duplication)
    • 2/4 will have tends of Q K, and White Hue (both deletions)
  • 4/15 will have tends of Q K and Light Red Hue (two duplications, two deletions)

Current Strategy

Repeated crossing of Peacefulness#19 with a renamed clone of itself (Peace19) which has the genome of:

  • KRYRGYROGGGGGRYYROK
  • This vine has one Y removed from Contemplation, and is 19 genes long. There are four Y genes remaining.
  • The hue is Light Red, and the starting genome tends as Q KK wildS

Outcomes

Peacefulness#21

has a 8/53 (about 15%) chance of a deleted gene
considering molecular balance

  • Hue is Light Red
  • tend 1 matches KK and wildS. Q is possible.
  • tend 2 matches Q KK wildS
  • 34/68 results have no change to the genome. The tends of this vine match the original
  • 34/68 results have a mutation
    • 19/34 mutations also have the same tends as the original
      • 8/19 have a deleted gene. (5 are -G, 2 are -R, 1 is -Y)

considering for molecular balance

Peacefulness#22

has a 8/53 (about 15%) chance of a deleted gene
considering molecular balance

  • Hue is Light Red
  • tend 1: matches Q KK, cannot tell with wildS
  • tend 2: matches Q KK, cannot tell with wildS
  • only one cross does not have wildS, and it is a longer genome

Peacefulness#23

has a 8/53 (about 15%) chance of a deleted gene
considering molecular balance

  • Hue is Light Red
  • tend 1, 2: Matches Q KK, cannot tell with wildS
  • tend 3, 4: matches Q KK wildS

Peacefulness#24

This vine has a duplication of the R gene.
Molecular balance indicates that this vine is longer than its parent.

  • tend1: Matches Q. Does not match KK. Cannot tell with wildS (not a positive tend)
    • Other possibility is K. KK is a positive tend, K is a negative tend. First tend did not show a positive tend.
  • Should be Q K. Hue not yet known
    • 6 possibilities yield Q K
      • 4/6 are Q K H
        • 2/4 are an R gene duplication
        • 2/4 are a gene deletion
      • 2/6 are Q K wildH.
        • both are gene deletion
  • tends 2, 3: match Q K wildS
  • Hue is Light Red. Not wildH

Peacefulness#28

has a 8/53 (about 15%) chance of a deleted gene
considering molecular balance

  • tend 1, 2: Q KK wildS
  • Hue is light red
