T9 Frequently Asked Questions
There have been many changes in T9 that may initially confuse players familiar with past tales and new players alike. Some of the most common questions that arise have been collected below to help you on your way in T9 if you get lost.
I harvested wood from a tree and all the other trees near it went on timer. Why?
Trees exist in what's called an "oasis". An oasis contains one or more plants and trees. When you harvest wood, you now harvest from all trees in the oasis at the same time, instead of the one tree, and all the trees go on timer. The total wood you get is equal to the yield of the harvested tree times the number of trees in the oasis, and the timer works out to 45 seconds per 1 wood harvested. This saves many clicks harvesting wood, but more than one oasis may be present in a small area so you may want to check them all until you know which trees are grouped in the same oasis.
The school didn't give me a Jug when I tried to learn Pottery.
There are two container types for liquids in ATITD now. Jugs come later in the tech progression. The early game/skill containers are Canvas Bags, which you can make yourself without being granted one for free *deus ex machina* style.
I can't figure out how to make a Canvas Bag.
Most things in T9 require you to have attained a particular level in a particular skill to make. You can find what skill levels grant you in a tooltip by hovering your mouse over the icon or progress bar ("pip") in your skills list. You need a high enough Clothwork skill to make a canvas bag.

I can't see [product] on the crafting bench. Do I need all the materials in inventory?
You need the appropriate skill and level to see items to make on the crafting bench.
Where do I go to learn Foraging?
Foraging is now Botany, and you learn it like you used to do the Body Initiation. Identify a sufficient number of plants (by clicking on them) and you will learn it automatically: no school or university involved.
It's way too much xp to level [skill].
Things are still being balanced.
Why can't I remove onions/straw/etc. from animal pens?
You can no longer remove onions/straw/etc. from animal pens because you are granted xp for feeding your pets now. The alternative would be you'd have to lose xp for removing the food. Also, it means you can't use those buildings as infinite storage containers. The source food (like "Onions") gets turned into animal food (like "Sheep Food"), which you can remove and redistribute as you like without affecting your xp gains.
Why can't I remove boards/bricks from Guild Hall?
Boards and bricks stashed in a Guild Hall are considered to be donated for expansion use and not for allowing the Guild Hall to be used as an infinite storage container.
What happened to Leveling?
Leveling has been removed from the game and replaced by Tasks. As you complete each Task you will be able to do more and more in the game.
