Source and Cost

Structure Repair is a multi-school skill. You may pay the tuitions in any order, but you may only purchase one degree at each allowed level (4, 8, 12, 16, 21, 30, 38).

Unlike most skills, you can learn this from someone who already knows it. Like research lessons, one can be taught every 5 minutes. However, it is time consuming. Consider doing this if you are not in a hurry to learn the skill and are around that player a lot!

  • 1st degree takes 70 lessons
  • 2nd degree takes 140 lessons
  • 3rd degree takes 280 lessons
  • 4th degree takes 560 lessons
  • 5th degree takes 1120 lessons
  • 6th degree takes 2240 lessons
  • 7th degree takes 4480 lessons

Since degrees from the various schools are interchangeable (meaning whichever school you go to teaches the next available degree), consider learning first few degrees from someone else and then complete the last degrees from the schools that require the cheapest tuition. If you plan to replace some tuition payments with lessons, do the lessons FIRST as the number of lessons are specific to the degree being taught and not to how you learned the previous degrees.

Use

Used to fix structures that have been damaged due to being in an unprotected Compound (where maintenance has reached 0%), left outside, or near an explosion.

Structure Repair does not help with maintaining Compounds. For that, the Structure Maintenance skill is used.

Structure Conditions

From best to worst:

USABLE:

  • *no message*
  • Near Perfect
  • Good

NOT USABLE and cannot remove items from structure:

  • Almost Serviceable
  • Badly Worn
  • Cracking
  • Crumbling
  • Rotting

Found under the structure's Utility menu is the option to "Attempt to repair this <structure name>".

  • If you succeed, the structure's condition will improve one level and you may try again immediately.
  • If you fail, you will trigger a 60-second rest timer.
  • Repairing requires NO materials at all, just skill and luck - Pascalito
  • At level 1 skill I found that I was able to repair several different structure one level pretty easily, but many tries to repair it again all failed - Tuhk
  • Even at level 7 it can take many attempts to increase a structure's condition even 1 level, so be prepared to spend some time if several levels of repair are needed.
