Appreciation
Current Project
Attempting to shorten the genome for Appreciation vines
Starting points
Appreciation, 16 genes long
- KGYRYRYYRYYRYYRK
Appreciation Original (same genome, renamed), 16 genes long
- KGYRYRYYRYYRYYRK
Analysis with Ashen's crossbreeding simulator shows that crossing with Nut's Essence can produce:
- a child identical to the parents (50% of the time), 22/44
- a child that is 15 genes long (25% of the time), 11/44
- a child that is 17 genes long (25% of the time), 11/44
Results which have mutations can be detected through
- Molecular Balance (not fully researched)
- Revelation Solvents
- Analysis of vineyard tends
- No Change: 22 of 44 results will show the same tends and be genetically identical to the parents, three Quality genomes and no Sugar genomes (wild)
- Sneaky Change: 7 of 44 results have a mutation that can ONLY be detected with Revelation Solvents or Molecular Balance. 6 are longer, 1 is shorter, but they do not change the function of the vine.
- Hue: 4 of 44 results will show changes in the Hue. 1 is longer, 3 are shorter.
- In the barrel Appreciation grapes have shown as Light Red wine.
- Harvested Appreciation grapes will display "Hue: Light Red" when examined through Skills > Viticulture.
- Expecting that a vine without the Hue genome will show as White wine.
- Quality: 11 of 44 results will show changes in the Quality tends.
- Sugar: 6 of 44 results will show changes in the Sugar tends.
Starting Point: 16 genes
two Appreciation vines (one renamed)
Results and Analysis
Here we go!
Results summary
- These vines are tending as QQQ, wildS, and have a Light Red Hue. 1 in 44 chance of a shorter genome.
- Peacefulness#8
- Peacefulness#9
- Peacefulness#10
- Still working on Peacefulness #11
- Peacefulness#12 has a 1 in 4 chance of being shorter.
Tends to Avoid
They give ambiguous results for these vines
- Fat SL, need the tend for QQQ. Also Q = QQ
- Fat SV, wildS = S
- Fat TL, Q = QQ
- Fat TV, wildS = SS
- Musty AS, Q = QQQ
- Rustle MG, wildS = S
- Rustle SL, wildS = SS
- Rustle SV, Q = QQQ
- Sagging AS, Q = QQ and wildS = SS
- Sagging PO, wildS = S
- Shimmer MG, wildS = SS
- Wilting AS, Q = QQQ
More Details
Peacefulness#8
conclusion: this cross has a 1/44 chance of having a shorter genome
early tends match QQQ, wildS.
Hue in the barrel is Light Red, same as Appreciation.
- 22/44, identical to parents, 16 genes.
- 6/44, gained a gene, 17 genes.
- 1/44, lost a gene, 15 genes.
Peacefulness#9
Conclusion: This cross has a 1/44 chance of having a shorter genome
- First tend was Musty AS. Poor choice of tend. Q and QQQ both have the same quality change.
- Tends 2 through 7 match QQQ, wildS
- Current possibilities: 33 of 44 combinations yield QQQ, wildS
- 22/44, no change to the genome
- 7/44, gene added
- 4/44, gene removed
- In the barrel, Peacefulness#9 is Light Red
- 29/33, no change, Light Red
- 6/33 gene added. 1/33 gene removed
- 4/33, wildHue giving White (or Rose?)
- 1/4, gene added. 3/4 gene removed
- 29/33, no change, Light Red
Peacefulness#10
Conclusion: This cross has a 1/44 chance of having a shorter genome
- Four tends match QQQ wildS
- Two tends, Q values negative, wildS
- Hue is Light Red
Peacefulness#11
- first two tends match QQQ wildS
Peacefulness#12
Freshly planted vine, 0 Quality. First tend (Musty TL) gave no increase in grape quality.
- Q should give -4 quality.
- QQ should give -5 quality
- QQQ does give +6 quality. Verified with an Appreciation vine. This vine is not QQQ.
- QQQQ tends not documented
- 11 vines have a change in Q. 4 are longer, 7 are shorter.
- All of those vines have Light Red Hue.
- First tend gave a change in sugar that matches S, not the wildS in Appreciation.
- Vines with S: 3 are longer, 1 is shorter.
