Use

Allows you to recover part of the materials of a building when you tear it down. In previous Tellings, it followed a 'diminishing returns' pattern, with some variance for each material.

  • Level 1 - 40%
  • Level 2 - 60%
  • Level 3 - 75%
  • Level 4 - 80%
  • Level 5 - 85%
  • Level 6 - 90%
  • Level 7 - 95%

Fractional values will be rounded up that percentage of the time. For instance, if you are at level 3 and you salvage a building with just one of a particular resource, you will get that one resource back 75% of the time.

Buildings that are upgraded (such as the Reactory, Thistle Garden, Kitchen, etc.) will ONLY return the original build cost. You will NOT salvage the materials used in any upgrades.

Salvage Techniques will NOT recover materials from compounds, nor from buildings which are too far degraded to use.

Glass Recycling

On June 9, 2018, Apophis confirmed the release of a new feature: Glass Recycling. This is available to everyone with the Salvage Techniques skill at a minimum of level 3.

At a Chemistry Laboratory, a sub menu is available called Recycling....

In Change Log channel, the following message was posted:

Added: Glass Recycling is now available for individuals with Salvage Techniques 3 and higher, and possible yield increases based on further levels.

It is available at Chemistry Labs.

A few things about glass recycling

You can convert your blown glass into glass dust at a chem lab.

The higher your skill, the more dust you can theoretically produce with each item you shatter.

Not only can you choose one item to break, you can also break all of one category, or all of the glass you carry. There are yes/no blocks on categories, and a question to answer if you want to break all the glass you carry.

Some items will yield Soda Glass Dust. Some will yield Normal Glass Dust. Some will yield Jewel Glass Dust.

8 dust in a bench at temp should increase the glass count by one.

In Kush chat, replying to a question from Rosethorn about fished up glassware, Apophis confirmed:

Yeah, anything that is blown glassware, whether you blew it, or a friend blew it, or a complete stranger blew it and threw it in a lake. ;)

  • At 4 salvage I seem to get three dust recycling a beaker. Only did a couple, unsure how much better higher levels are. -Matk
