Each player wishing to participate in the Test of Festivals will need to test themselves to get their requirements.
Requirements
- Two players
- A Common Altar
- Two debens of two items, as listed below
Items
This will depend on the god you are testing for. The two items are:
- Bastet: Honey and Camel Milk
- Hathor: Male Rabbit and Female Rabbit
- Isis: Honey and Oil
- Maat: Linen and Canvas
- Osiris: Flax and Barley (raw)
- Ra: Medium Quartz and Medium Topaz
- Thoth: Papyrus Paper and Candle
Testing
- Either Person meditates on the altar (not strictly necessary, but ensures the altar is clear of any other player's interference)
- Person 1 puts their first item on the left pillar
- Person 2 puts their first item on the right pillar.
- Person 1 puts their second item on the left focus.
- Person 2 puts their second item on the right focus.
- Person 1 meditates.
- Person 2 meditates.
At this point both players will get their own dialog box, which will be one of:
- Your personal requirements
- A failure message (for example, if you have not started the Test of Festivals)
Materials are not consumed and can be removed once each player has received their instructions, or left on the Altar for another group of people to use to test with.
Everyone receives different instructions, so all people wishing to participate in a festival must do this ritual. If you successfully please a god in a festival, your requirement for all gods will change, so it's often best to bring supplies and re-test at the festival altar.
