Each player wishing to participate in the Test of Festivals will need to test themselves to get their requirements.

Requirements

  • Two players
  • A Common Altar
  • Two debens of two items, as listed below

Items

This will depend on the god you are testing for. The two items are:

The first item listed goes on the pillar, the second item listed goes on the focus.

Testing

CommonAltar.png

  • Person 1 puts their first item on the left pillar
  • Person 2 puts their first item on the right pillar.
  • Person 1 puts their second item on the left focus.
  • Person 2 puts their second item on the right focus.
  • Person 1 meditates.
  • Person 2 meditates.

At this point both players will get their own dialog box, which will be one of:

  • Your personal requirements
  • A failure message (for example, if you have not started the Test of Festivals)

Materials are not consumed and can be removed once each player has received their instructions, or left on the Altar for another group of people to use to test with.

Everyone receives different instructions, so all people wishing to participate in a festival must do this ritual. If you successfully please a god in a festival, your requirement for all gods will change, so it's often best to bring supplies and re-test at the festival altar.

Reading your results

When you successfully perform a test, you will receive a dialog box with your requirements. It is a good habit to pres Copy to Clipboard button then save that information somewhere safe for future recollection of what you need. For each God the format of the message is the same, just showing you the slight variations you have to provide compared to other players.

  • To please Bastet, you must decorate yourself with dyed silk ribbons of {two different colours}. You must surround an altar with 21 bottles of milk. Inside this circle of worship you must sacrifice ambrosia of {citrus flavour combination} and milk.
  • To worship Hathor, eat a feast of {three stats}. Create a place of worship by surrounding an altar with live rabbits, chickens, and sheep. Within this circle, sacrifice ambrosia of {beer flavour and type} beer and cobra's blood.
  • To worship Osiris, create a place of worship by surrounding an altar with growing flax, barley, onions, leeks, carrots, and garlic. Within this circle, sacrifice ambrosia of {beer flavour and type} beer and oil.

The bold items are the most important, if you are joining the Festivals Guild at the Altar in Asyut 1040, 2372 then you just need to concern yourself with the variations in bold. If you are going it alone at your own altar, you will also need to prepare the altar with the items shown in italic. Information that changes for each player are shown inside {curly brackets}.
