Sources

Onion is one of the five basic vegetable types. It is grown on sandy terrain from Onion Seeds.

Consumption

Consuming a Grilled Onion will give a temporary +2 Endurance.

Cost

To grow onions, plant Onion Seeds in a sandy area.

Pollution

An unknown number of factors can cause seeds to fail to grow. The original seed is returned.

Onions pollute/deplete the land in a small area around them, somewhere between 10 and 20 coordinates (still unclear). Cabbage doesn't appear to grow in this area, but leeks and carrots do, as well as flax. Haven't tested other seeds. (See User:Densor for related anecdotes/testing.)
